Hi, I’m Nick Hoffman

A man standing inside a fast-food restaurant, wearing a black uniform, glasses, and a red cap. He has a necklace with a large yellow "FOOD" pendant and is making a hand gesture with both hands. There is a drink machine and a counter beside him, with a window showing cars outside.
A computer monitor displaying a digital card game deck management screen, with a backlit keyboard, and four stacks of trading cards lined up on a desk in front of it.

I started playing Magic in 2013 with my best friend during Avacyn Restored / late Innistrad—my first real love was a scrappy Red-Green Wolves Standard deck (couldn’t afford Werewolves), and I’ve been “play first, collect later” ever since. I’m a midrange grinder at heart: give me close games, tons of interaction, and the kind of stack moments you talk about for weeks—like copying a Rise of the Dark Realms with Return the Favor and stealing every graveyard before the original resolved. Graveyard decks have always been my lane (shoutout Ishkanah, Grafwidow), but my proudest Commander build was Jalira built to unleash a secret commander, Guile, and turn the table into a counterspell puzzle. I love Type 4 Cube for the draft speed and the “wait… that works?!” interactions. At Proxy Friendly, I handle product QA, development, and operations—testing materials, tightening processes, and explaining rules clearly—because I want better decks in more hands, fairer pods, and more people getting to enjoy this beautiful, ridiculous game (preferably in Sultai).
